Greg Chappell on talent hunt for Twenty20 team

Former Australian captain Greg Chappell was here today to tap for local talent to shore up the Indian Premier Leagues Twenty-20 team.

New Delhi, Mar.19 : Former Australian captain Greg Chappell was here today to tap for local talent to shore up the Indian Premier League's Twenty-20 team.

Describing the task as gruelling, Chappell said: "We have a good blend of emerging talent in the sense that we have got a few younger players from around the country and we have got a few mature boys. So, we have a good blend. It gives us the breadth ....to work with, honestly to try and produce some players for 20 overs cricket in 12 months time. It needs to be fairly well down the track."

Chappell and bio-mechanist Ian Frazer recently visited several towns, including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata for tapping local cricketing talent.
