Former Cricket captain Kapil Dev has asked the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) to return the personal gifts and memorabilia of his cricketing years.
New Delhi, June 18 : Former Cricket captain Kapil Dev has asked the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) to return the personal gifts and memorabilia of his cricketing years.
In a letter to Punjab Cricket Association secretary MP Pandove, he asked the PCA to return the memorabilia of his cricketing years and of the 1983 World Cup cricket tournament that were kept at various places at the Mohali ground.
In an emotional appeal to the PCA, he wrote if the PCA did not like to preserve the memorabilia or wanted to throw it, then the association should return it to him as he has personal attachments to those items.
On his poster being removed, he wrote that it was the decision of PCA and it was free to do that.
PCA media manager GS Walia said Kapil's poster was damaged by the winds and would be back on the PCA wall soon.
Kapil's alliance with the rebel Indian Cricket League, of which he is the chairman, led to the BCCI sacking him from the National Cricket Academy, stopping his pension, and then stripping his poster from the Mohali stadium.
