International Cricket Council (ICC) today strongly rejected and rebutted suggestion that it was involved in carrying out dope test on international cricketers around the world including players of Pakistan.

Dubai, July 20 : International Cricket Council (ICC) today strongly rejected and rebutted suggestion that it was involved in carrying out dope test on international cricketers around the world including players of Pakistan.

Reacting to a report, appearing on a Pakistani paper's website that said that the ICC was undertaking dope test of Pakistani Cricketers at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, an ICC Spokesman said: "We do not have dope-testers. The testers will be independent and have been brought in by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)."

Earlier, it was erroneously reported by the websites that the ICC anti-doping squad had begun the initial process of dope testing of Pakistan's 30-member squad ahead of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy to be held in September.

According to PCB sources at the National Cricket Academy here, the cricketers have undergone physical tests and their urine samples for dope test will be collected tomorrow.

Most of the players included in the squad for Champions Trophy under went physical tests at the National Cricket Academy here, but urine samples for dope test could not be collected due to the absence of WADA officials.

PCB officials told that most of the players were present in the National Academy and they would be called random for urine sampling.

However, according to The News, Shahid Afridi and Yunus Khan didn't make themselves available for the physical test yesterday.

Afridi said that he would undergo the process today.
