Ponting returns as captain for Twenty20 clash against India

Ricky Ponting will lead an Australian Twenty20 squad featuring a new-look bowling attack for Fridays clash with India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Sydney, Jan.30 : Ricky Ponting will lead an Australian Twenty20 squad featuring a new-look bowling attack for Friday's clash with India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Michael Clarke has been named vice-captain of the squad, while fast bowlers Stuart Clark and Shaun Tait have been dropped from the side that defeated the Kiwis in a similar clash in December.

Fast bowler Ben Hilfenhaus and all-rounder James Hopes will join Brett Lee, Nathan Bracken and Ashley Noffke in the 13-man squad, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

Test pacer Mitchell Johnson and opening bat Mathew Hayden have been rested, and are replaced by Brad Hodge and in-form Victorian batsman David Hussey.

David's brother Michael is already a key member of the squad.

"He's a good friend of mine, not only my brother, but he's such a fantastic player to watch so I am excited about playing with him," said David Hussey.

"I'm also excited about playing with Ricky Ponting, the world's best batsman and Adam Gilchrist who has probably revolutionised the game."

The match will be Gilchrist's last Twenty20 match for Australia after announcing his impending retirement earlier this week.

Squad: Ricky Ponting (capt), Michael Clarke (v-capt), Adam Gilchrist, Nathan Bracken, Ben Hilfenhaus, Brad Hodge, James Hopes, David Hussey, Michael Hussey, Brett Lee, Ashley Noffke, Andrew Symonds, Adam Voges.
