Capello says his team must conquer Wembley phobia

England football coach Fabio Capello has said that the team must conquer their Wembley fear factor before they can conquer the world.

London, Feb.7 : England football coach Fabio Capello has said that the team must conquer their Wembley fear factor before they can conquer the world.

Capello says his first job will be to banish the nightmare memories of the team's failure to qualify for the Euro 2008 finals.

Goals from Jermaine Jenas and Shaun Wright-Phillips ensured Capello got off to a winning start against the Swiss.

"Wembley always generates pressure on the players and they couldn't play as they wished at first. It was only later in the game that we created a lot of goal scoring chances but even then we didn't take as many as we should because the Swiss had a very good goalkeeper."

According to The Sun, Capello went home with a video of the game and will scrutinise every aspect of his team's performance before delivering his final verdict.

But he will look particularly closely at Switzerland's 58th-minute equaliser, scored by 19-year-old debutant Eren Derdiyok.

"We need to analyse everything very carefully but it is important for the morale of the team to get off to a winning start.

Capello maintained: "I can rotate players to a certain extent but I need to understand things and get to know players. There are some matches when everything goes to plan and I can take some players off to give them a rest.

"But there are also times when things don't go so well and that is when we see the character of the players."
