Lahore, Feb 29 : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has denied reports that former captain Waqar Younis has appointed as the national team's bowling coach.
"There is no need to attach a former bowler with the team as a specialist coach. No such proposal is under consideration. Neither Waqar nor anyone is under consideration for the job as a bowling coach," the Daily Times quoted a PCB spokesperson, as saying.
The spokesperson further added when we have Geoff Lawson as the coach, there is no need to hire any former Test cricketer, including Waqar.
He also dismissed reports 9of the PCB sacking Waqar as the bowling coach. He said Waqar had himself resigned from the post.
"PCB chairman Nasim Asrhaf never apologised or admitted that Waqar's removal as a bowling coach was a mistake on his part. It is a propaganda to twist the facts," the PCB spokesman added.
