Kapil Dev advices Sreesanth to concentrate on his game

Former all-rounder and captain of Indias 1983 World Cup winning cricket team, Kapil Dev on Monday advised fast bowler Shantakumaran Sreesanth to concentrate more on the game rather than off the field activities.

Thiruvanathpuram, August 25 : Former all-rounder and captain of India's 1983 World Cup winning cricket team, Kapil Dev on Monday advised fast bowler Shantakumaran Sreesanth to concentrate more on the game rather than off the field activities.

Sreesanth is not part of the team, which is visiting Sri Lanka for three tests and five One Day International (ODI) matches.

Known for his antics on the cricket field, Sreesanth is also famous for off-filed activities, such as dancing apart from his endorsement roles.

"I think he is an entertainer, I love him. But I think he should not forget he is representing the country. And entertainment is a part of our life and sports itself is entertainment. But he should not forget the basic to perform on the ground, on cricket. He should come back to cricket and try to do more cricket than other things..." Kapil Dev told a news conference in Thiruvanathpuram.

According to recent reports he has also been offered a role in a Malayalam film, also featuring seasoned Malayalam actor Mamooty.

Sreesanth launched a video album 'Jaago India' in September last year, to boost the Indian team for the Twenty20 World Cup.

The songs in the album were penned by Sreesanth and sung by his brother-in-law Madhu Balakrishnan, a well-known south Indian singer.
