Melbourne, Aug 24 : Australian fast bowler Brett Lee's wife Liz Kemp has broken her silence about their break-up, in which she has been alleged to have had an affair.

The Sunday Telegraph has been told the fast bowler believes Liz Kemp has been seeing someone else after she made several trips to Brisbane while he was away.

Liz Lee said today that she was devastated by the break-up of her marriage to Brett Lee.

"This is an extremely difficult time for me and my family. I would like to thank all those who have offered their love and support," she said.

"I will be making no further comment at this time and would request that the privacy of our family is respected," Liz Lee said.

Lee, 31, has been holed up in his Sydney home with the couple's year-old son, Preston. Cracks began to show in the high-profile couple's marriage about six months ago.

Kemp, 31, grew up in Queensland but her parents and immediate family live in Sydney.

Lee is believed to have been suspicious about the trips and "anomalies"' in Kemp's travel stories.
