Wimbledon winners will get 750,000 pounds each at this years championships.

London, Apr.30 : Wimbledon winners will get 750,000 pounds each at this year's championships.

Both the men and women singles champs will rake in an additional 50,000 pounds, and for the first time, the prize money will be equal.

All England Club chairman Tim Phillips said: "Last year we had an extraordinary men's final, the previous year we had an extraordinary ladies' final.

"Each year one event might be better than the other. But we felt that equal prize money was absolutely the right thing to do," The Sun quoted Phillips as adding.
