Following criticism of the 5-year ban on fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar from different quarters of the Pakistani society, the countrys Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani is learnt to have taken a notice of the PCBs action and issued directives to the PCB to revise the decision, the sources added.

Islamabad, Apr 3 : Following criticism of the 5-year ban on fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar from different quarters of the Pakistani society, the country's Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani is learnt to have taken a notice of the PCB's action and issued directives to the PCB to revise the decision, the sources added.

Yesterday, angry supporters of Shoaib Akhtar held a demonstration in Rawalpindi against the ban.

Meanwhile, the PML-N submitted an adjournment motion to the National Assembly against the. After submitting adjournment motion, party MNA Hanif Abbasi said that the motion carrying signatures of five MNAs were submitted to the National Assembly Secretariat.

The issues related to appointment of Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board, his tenure and privileges being given to him (Chairman PCB) has been raised in the motion, he said, adding that the issue to put ban on world fastest blower Shoaib Akhtar for five years would be raised in the lower house.

Answering a question, he said, "I think that the decision taken by PCB was based on personal enmity."

"Neither I have any personal relations with Shoaib Akhtar nor he is my friend. I took the decision due to concern being raised by the masses over putting ban on Akhtar," The Nation quoted him as saying.
