Chennai, Apr 19 : Mike Hussey's fastest century in Twenty20 cricket history powered Chennai Super King to a comfortable 33-run victory against Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in Mohali on Saturday.

Hussey's unbeaten 116 off just 54 balls took Chennai Super Kings to 240 for five at the PCA stadium.

It was the second century in the tournament after Brendon McCullum's 158 in the opening match in Bangalore on Friday night.

Suresh Raina (32), S Badrinath (31) and Matthew Hayden (25) were other batsmen who contributed to the total of 240 for Super King.

Kings XI started off well till the midway but the dismissal of James Hopes (71) brought Chennai back in the game.

Captain Yuvraj Singh too failed to score well and went back after scoring 23 runs.

Kumara Sangakkara (54) and Karan Goel (24)) were the other batsmen who made some runs for Kings XI.

Irfan Pathan took wickets of Mattew Hayden and Jacob Oram, while Lee, Hopes and Mota picked one wicket each.

Skipper MS Dhoni could not contribute much as James Hopes caught him in front of the wicket.
