Coach Capello to Roo: Relax if you want to score goals

England football coach Fabio Capello has told striker Wayne Rooney that he is not scoring enough goals because he is too tense.

London, Apr.16 : England football coach Fabio Capello has told striker Wayne Rooney that he is not scoring enough goals because he is too tense.

Rooney has hit 14 goals in 42 appearances for England, but should have had many more believe experts.

Capello has been using Rooney as a lone striker, but the experiment has so far failed.

"Rooney is the most talented England player and I'm confident he still has a lot of improvement ahead of him. He is very good at everything. But the one thing he needs to improve, can improve and will improve is that in every game he has a lot of goal scoring chances and still doesn't take them - or nowhere near as many as he should," The Sun quoted Capello, as saying.

"I have spoken to Rooney and technically he is very strong, but what he needs to do is be more relaxed in front of goal. Not to be obsessed. Not to have this obsession about scoring," Capello added.

"He will score more goals. He will improve year on year. He is young and still has to mature. He is not scoring at the moment but he has chances. And a player who has chances, sooner or later, is going to break the duck and score," Capello said.

Capello was speaking during a goodwill mission to Lesotho where the FA are helping to establish a coaching system across the southern African country.
