Mohammad Asif confident about getting Sehwags wicket early

Pakistan pacer Mohammad Asif has said that he is well aware of the weaknesses of Indias swashbuckling batsman Virender Sehwag, and he would try to get rid of the Delhi player early when the two sides meet in a Group D match of the Twenty20 World Championship here later today.

Durban, Sept 14 : Pakistan pacer Mohammad Asif has said that he is well aware of the weaknesses of India's swashbuckling batsman Virender Sehwag, and he would try to get rid of the Delhi player early when the two sides meet in a Group D match of the Twenty20 World Championship here later today.

Aiming to continue the psychological advantage he has been enjoying over Sehwag for the last two years, Asif said, "I know his weaknesses very well, and I want to exploit them yet again."

"When you are playing Twenty20 cricket, you play with a more attacking mind. Sehwag would definitely do that, and I want to exploit that weakness of his," The New quoted Asif, as saying.

Asif, who has removed Sehwag at least six times previously in limited-over competitions, expressed confidence about getting the Indian opener out during his opening spell.

"If luck goes to my favour, I know I can have his wicket in the very first spell of mine," he said.

Commenting on India's chances at the inaugural world cup of the game's shortest version, Asif said that the Indian team would be under pressure as it has hardly played any Twenty20 match in recent past.

"I know that we have never beaten India in 50-over-a-side World Cup match. But this (Twenty20 cricket) is altogether a different game. We have the advantage over India as we have played enough matches during the last two weeks to get into the rhythm. Still, I feel, we have to take the game seriously," he said.

"I want to play a main role for Pakistan in this crucial match (against India). What our team needs is some early breakthroughs and I have got a plan to provide that to the team," Asif added.
