Saurav Ganguly and Sachin Tendular began a good solid start for the Indian batting innings in chasing the 318 run target set by Australia. Both Ganguly and Saching added some good partnership before Saching was stump out by Gilchrist off a ball from Hopes. Sachin made 72 runs in 72 balls. Ganguly is not out at 62 runs and is joined by Pathan.
Lee gave 32 runs off 5 overs so far. Hopes gave 3 expensive overs giving 25. Hogg's bowling too proved Australia costly as he gave 41 runs off 6 overs so far.
Earlier, Australia made 317/8 with Symonds making a century and Gilchrist and Ponting making some valuable additions.
