Reigning champions India retained their Asia and Middle East Bridge Championship crown for a fourth time on Sunday by defeating Pakistan by 235-233 in the final.

Karachi, May 22 : Reigning champions India retained their Asia and Middle East Bridge Championship crown for a fourth time on Sunday by defeating Pakistan by 235-233 in the final.

The win took place in the 14th edition of the tournament, the dawn reported.

India's Debasish Ray, Kamal Mukherji, Aloke Sadhu and Kamal Roy snatched the title for the fourth time in a row after winning it in Manama (2001), Amman (2003) and Dhaka (2005).

India and Pakistan have qualified for the 38th Bermuda Bowl World Bridge Championship to be held in Shanghai, China, in September.

At the end of three segments on Saturday, the final was locked at 153-all.
