Pakistan batsman Younis Khan has made himself available for the Twenty20 World Cup to be played in South Africa in September, and the home series to be followed against the Proteas.
Karachi, May 17 : Pakistan batsman Younis Khan has made himself available for the Twenty20 World Cup to be played in South Africa in September, and the home series to be followed against the Proteas.
According to The News, Younis has assured the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that he would like to make a comeback in the national team at the end of the English County season, where he is playing for Yorkshire.
The newspaper quoted well-placed sources as saying, that the former Pakistan vice-captain expressed his desire to play from later this year when a PCB official contacted him to talk about his future with the national team.
Younis refused a captaincy offer made by the PCB last month after Inzamam-ul-Haq quit the job in the wake of the World Cup debacle.
Younis had said he was unable to cope with the stress that came with the job.
However, Younis had reportedly told his close friends that he was unwilling to lead Pakistan because of the lack of support shown to him by some of the team's senior players.
