London, May 10 : David Beckham had better prove himself at new club LA Galaxy, or team-mates may soon end up grudging the fact that he will be paid twice as much as the whole team put together.

The soccer ace is due to start with the American side on July 1, a day after his contract with current club, Spanish Giants Real Madrid runs out on June 30.

According to The Sun, Becks will be pocketing a neat 3.25million pounds in his first season alone at the Galaxy.

And, Becks' pay packet looks all the more generous when one gets a look at what his team-mates get paid. The wages of the whole team adds up to 1.32million pounds- half of his salary - with the lowest paid player, Lance Fritz, pocketing a measly 6,500 pounds.

Though Beckham will earn up to 10 million dollars a year in direct salary during his five year deal, endorsements and profit-sharing could see him pocketing up to 50 million dollars a year and earning about 90 dollars every second on the field.
