Former Australian cricket players Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath are negotiating with Zee Groups Indian Cricket League (ICL).
Sydney, July 25 : Former Australian cricket players Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath are negotiating with Zee Group's Indian Cricket League (ICL).
According to the managers of the two, negotiations relating to their role and the renumeration that they will get are still in progress, and could firm up by next week.
Warne's manager, James Erskine, confirmed that he has ben talking to both ICL officials and former England cricketer-turned commentator Tony Greig. McGrath's manager, Warren Craig, said he had met with ICL officials some time ago, and although there had been few developments since then, this week's events were likely to speed the process up.
"We certainly haven't ruled it out," Craig said.
Greig is said to be acting as the go between the ICL, Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath.
According to The Australian, Warne is seeking a two million dollar deal over the next three years.
Earlier this week, former West Indian captain Brian Lara was signed up for a reported payment of half-a-million dollars a year.
The ICL plans to to launch its first Twenty20 tournament this October and November with six teams, each of which would ideally feature four international players and two Indian stars, with the rest made up of younger players.
