With the injury ruling out three bowlers-- Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel and RP Singh from the Indian squad for the Third Test against Pakistan, the selectors on Wednesday chose to induct Irfan Pathan, Ishant Sharma and VRV Singh into the team.

Bangalore, Dec 5 : With the injury ruling out three bowlers-- Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel and RP Singh from the Indian squad for the Third Test against Pakistan, the selectors on Wednesday chose to induct Irfan Pathan, Ishant Sharma and VRV Singh into the team.

India is leading the ongoing series 1-0 and the final Test match of the series is scheduled to start on December 8 in Bangalore.

Dilip Vengsarkar, the chairman of selectors, also attended today's meeting.

"Because of injuries to many fast bowlers, the selectors would like to defer the announcement of the final 16 for the Australia tour," Niranjan Shah, the secretary of the BCCI, told reporters.

He said that the squad for the Australian tour would be decided on December 12 and announced the 24 probables for the forthcoming tour.

The Indian squad for the third Test against Pakistan is as follows: Wasim Jaffer, Dinesh Karthik, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Wicket Keeper), Anil Kumble (Skipper), Harbhajan Singh, VRV Singh, Murali Kartik, Irfan Pathan, Ishant Sharma.

The probables for the Australia tour are: Anil Kumble, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Wasim Jaffer, Dinesh Karthik, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Sourav Ganguly, RP Singh, Munaf Patel, Zaheer Khan, VRV Singh, Pankaj Singh, Ishant Sharma, Murali Kartik, Harbhajan Singh, Piyush Chawla, Aakash Chopra, Gautam Gambhir, Ranadeb Bose, Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Parthiv Patel.
