PCB amends rule to ban rebel players

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has amended the playing condition rules to justify the domestic cricket ban on rebel players, sources have said.

Lahore, dec 26 : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has amended the playing condition rules to justify the domestic cricket ban on rebel players, sources have said.

According to a PCB spokesman, a new rule has been introduced in the playing conditions for domestic cricket.

"The new rule suggests that any player, who will participate in the tournament not recognised by the board, will no longer be eligible to play domestic cricket," the spokesman added.

PCB's domestic cricket general manager Shafiq Ahmed Papa has dispatched the copies of the rules regarding the playing conditions to all the affiliated departments and the affiliated teams.

The banned cricketers, who took part in the recently concluded Indian Cricket League, have decided to challenge the board's decision in the court of law.

Earlier, the PCB had banned seven cricketers, including former skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq from playing the domestic league, for taking part in the Indian Cricket League (ICL), the Daily Times reported.

Besides Inzamam, the other players banned by the PCB are Abdul Razzaq, Shabbir Ahmad, Azhar Mehmood, Taufiq Umar and Imran Farhat.
