London, Dec.25 : Former England football skipper David Beckham has dubbed his former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello as 'the man to lead England',- and pleaded for a place in the side.
Capello dropped Beckham from the Spanish outfit last season when it was announced he would be joining Los Angeles Galaxy.
Beckham, speaking in a candid Christmas BBC Radio Two interview broadcast today, said: "Fabio is one of the managers players look up to and want to manage them. I hope I'll be part of his plans. I think he is going to be great for the players and the England team."
Beckham admits he had problems under Capello, but is glad he was able to sign off at the Bernabeu in such style. He was sorry when the club sacked the Italian.
The 32-year-old Beckham has 99 England caps.
