Inzi likely to undergo tough physical fitness test

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is apparently planning to make former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq undergo a rigorous physical fitness test before considering him for selection in the Test squad.

Karachi, Aug 3 : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is apparently planning to make former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq undergo a rigorous physical fitness test before considering him for selection in the Test squad.

According to sources, the board officials are against Inzamam's inclusion in the team, and they are convinced that the 37-year-old batsman would not be able to pass the fitness test. But instead of directly blocking Inzamam's return, they have decided to prepare a fitness test for the player.

"Officials are aware that Inzamam can cause havoc in the media if he is ignored for selection in Pakistan's Test squad which is why they have opted for a transparent way out," The News quoted a source, as saying.

"They believe the best way to keep Inzamam away is by making him go through a grilling fitness test," they added.

Inzamam, who always apparently disliked such fitness tests, is scheduled to attend a conditioning camp in Lahore from August 19 to 26.
