Pakistans new coach, Geoff Lawson, says he is not going to make any predictions about his teams prospects in the forthcoming Twenty20 World Cup to be held in South Africa from September 11.
Lahore, Aug 27 : Pakistan's new coach, Geoff Lawson, says he is not going to make any predictions about his team's prospects in the forthcoming Twenty20 World Cup to be held in South Africa from September 11.
Speaking to reporters at the Gaddafi Stadium here, Lawson said the event is open for all.
"To win, the Pakistan team will have to perform equally well in all departments - batting, bowling and fielding," he added.
"The boys are looking fit after hard training in the camp. They have potential, and God willing, we will do well," Lawson said.
Commenting on the team's attitude towards him, Lawson said: "I am quite happy to see their positive nature. They are keen to learn."
Lawson, who was suffering from dehydration, said the team is not really worried about the hot and humid conditions in Lahore, and continued with the training with much interest, which according to him was "a good sign".
Meanwhile, two key players of the team - fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar and all-rounder Shahid Afridi - could not attend the camp on the last day for different reasons, the Dawn reported.
