The management committee of Pakistan cricket team has suspended the fine on fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar.
Islamabad, Aug 24 : The management committee of Pakistan cricket team has suspended the fine on fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar.
Shoaib, who had left the training camp in Karachi ahead of schedule, would be under watch for the next six weeks and any repeat of indiscipline on his part would invite a re-imposition of the fine automatically, the committee said.
The committee, which met in Lahore, also heard the views of Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik .
Malik backed the speedster, and said the bowler had informed him before leaving the training camp.
"After hearing Shoaib and Malik's version, I have decided to suspend the fine imposed on the player," said Talat Ali, the manager of the team.
"If he violates disciplinary rules again during that period, the fine would automatically be imposed on him," The News quoted Ali, as saying.
Ali hoped that Shoaib would take the management into confidence before repeating any such action in future.
"It is pre-requisite for every player to take the management into confidence before leaving the camp," he added.
The PCB Appeal Commission had already waived off Rs 200,000 for not appearing before the committee, and cleared the player from deduction of points.
