I have no problem with Akhtar, other seniors: Zakir Khan

Former Test cricketer and PCBs Director of Cricket Operations, Zakir Khan, has said there is no problem between him and senior Pakistani cricketers, including speedster Shoaib Akhtar.

Karachi, Aug 17 : Former Test cricketer and PCB's Director of Cricket Operations, Zakir Khan, has said there is no problem between him and senior Pakistani cricketers, including speedster Shoaib Akhtar.

Zakir's statement comes after a meeting with Akhtar in Lahore, during which the two reportedly had a patch-up.

However, Shoaib had a heated argument with Zakir before the two ended the meeting on a 'positive note', The News quoted sources as saying.

"Shoaib came to meet me and we did have a chat," Zakir said. But he refrained from giving any further details.

Shoaib and Zakir had been at loggerheads after the PCB fined the Rawalpindi pacer for leaving a training camp in Karachi without informing the officials early this month.

Reports have been making the rounds that several other leading players, including captain Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi and Younis Khan, have also ganged up against Zakir, and asked the board to sack him for allegedly not treating them with respect.
