Employee Unions of APSRTC went on a strike asking for immediate approval of their demands by the Government. After many unsuccessful talks between the Unions and the Government, the strike came to an end with a the later agreeing to fulfill 42 demands and rejected 16 on Nov 7.

A Case on selling of infant babies from Charity home and Child Adoption Centers unearthed in Apr 2001. The Assembly had a hot discussion on this issue many times during the year. Police and CID entered and began their investigation. Saifabad Police has saved 6 more babies and took 6 people of the Tandur Bethenic Home into custody from being sold as adoption on 24 Apr. Members of the CARE visited Hyderabad to look into the matter. On 27 Apr, 11 babies were saved by the Government from Sparsh - a tender care home in Hyderabad. Mrs Sarita Bandala of Precious Moments prime accused in child adoption cases surrents to CBCID. Finally on May 19, Mrs. Anita Sen surrendered before the court in this connection.

The list includes Chinese Leader Mr. Li Peng visits Hi-tech City & Buddha Poornima Project, Prime Minister of Mauritues Mr. Anerood Jugnauth, Vice President of Panama, President of Colombia, Mauritius Minister of IT & Telecommunications
