Linde Further Expands Gases Supply in Industrial Parks in China's Eastern Region

CHANGZHOU, China, Nov. 25 /PRNewswire-Asia/-- The technology group The Linde Group has officially launched the development of its latest gases production and supply infrastructure in yet another industrial hub in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu on November, 21. The new development is part of Linde's on-going gases supply investment schemes in the province's belt of industrial hubs.

The groundbreaking ceremony of Linde Gases (Changzhou) Co., Ltd, a member of The Linde Group, today marked the start of its Euro 15 million (RMB 150 million) gases infrastructure development in Changzhou National Hi-tech District (CND). In the course of the project, Linde will build a nitrogen generator with a capacity of 15,000 normal cubic metres per hour (Nm3/h). After its completion, the new plant is supposed to supply industrial gases to multiple industrial companies in CND via a 20 kilometer (km) long pipeline supply network. Linde has to date secured gases supply contracts to more than 10 customers in CND, and is expected to begin supply by the third quarter of 2009.

Linde's integrated gases infrastructural production and supply concept in CND will guarantee high supply reliability and stability to customers, as well as returns in cost and energy. With production and supply centrally managed, Linde will be able to forecast customer usage to better optimise resources, ensure consistent supply and improve energy consumption. Linde's forward- looking infrastructural solutions enable its pipeline connection network to extend organically, better responding to the expansion needs of the industrial park or customers' operations.

''Linde is a long-term partner in the industrial expansion and growth of Jiangsu province, having established several gas supply schemes in major industrial hubs here - including Suzhou New District, Suzhou Industrial Park, Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Wuxi New Development Zone, and Zhangjiagang Chemical Park. Our participation in CND provides yet another opportunity for Linde to deliver its promises in quality, reliability and efficiency to serve the rising needs of the industries in Changzhou,'' said Steven Fang, head of Linde's Greater China regional business unit. Linde has to date invested Euro 70 million (RMB 700 million) for gas supply schemes in industrial hubs in Jiangsu province.

Changzhou National Hi-Tech District (CND), a national industrial development area. The enterprises in the CND enjoy the preferential policies granted by the State Council. CND has very convenient transportation network by air, water, road and rail. The Shanghai-Nanjing Railway is in the south, and the Yangtze River in the north. Shanghai is 100miles away in the east, and Nanjing is 70 miles away in the west.

Today, CND forms a complete set of industries and is one of the first bunches of development zones being ISO14001 certified in China. CND has attracted many local and overseas investors by its excellent location, convenient transportation, stable preferential policies and efficient service. A group of famous multi-national companies have settled down in CND.
