GARP Hosts 10th Annual Risk Management Convention & Exhibition February 9-12, 2009 in New York City

NEW YORK, LONDON and BEIJING, Nov. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Celebrating ten successful years of organizing the premier risk management event, the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP: www.garp.org) announces its 10th Annual Risk Management Convention & Exhibition will be held February 9-12, 2009, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. This year's annual gathering will attract financial risk professionals from across the globe and will kick-off and conclude with four separate one-day workshops and an exclusive Enterprise Risk Management Forum on February 9, 2009 and February 12, 2009.

The Convention will feature keynote addresses from the world's leading risk management experts, including:

Led by top industry practitioners and academics, 11 new track sessions will run simultaneously during the Convention, entailing the latest advances in risk management research, and strategies and techniques utilized by the world's leading firms. Sessions will cover credit, energy, market and operational risk, as well as enterprise risk management. A special track this year will feature researchers presenting their papers that received a grant from GARP's Research Center.

An exhibition hall will run alongside the two-day Convention. It will feature an array of leading companies within the risk management industry, offering their products and services. Exhibitors include firms such as McKinsey & Company, Moody's Analytics, SAS, Oracle, Teradata, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Algorithmics.

The 2008 Risk Manager of the Year Award, which honors outstanding contributions in the field of financial risk management, will also be presented at the 10th Annual Risk Management Convention & Exhibition.
