The Modi Wave Arrives in Times Square

November 11, 2014 - New Delhi, Delhi, India

The "Modi Wave in Times Square” event sponsored by iTECH during September 27-29 to welcome Prime Minister Modi to the US succeeded in creating a lot of buzz amongst the mainstream American public. The event was picked up by hundreds of publications such as Associated Press, Voice of America, Fox, CBS, SF Gate, International Business Times etc. reaching millions of Americans.

The historic visit has set the tone for bigger and better things to come as evident in the op-ed jointly penned by Barack Obama & Narendra Modi in the Washington Post. The two largest nations where democracy is celebrated are keen to increase trade by five times to $500 Billion annually. President Obama has called US-India relations "one of the defining partnerships of the 21st Century."

"He spoke like a world leader. That's been lacking in most of India's leadership in the past. We've had politicians, but no genuine world leader." - Sonny Khurana (President & CEO, iTECH) praising Mr. Modi’s speech at the MSG

Prior to the visit, Mr. Khurana expressed deep concern over India’s Security & Investment shortfalls to Indian and American Media Networks. He emphasized why US is an indispensable partner for India in the global arena and how US companies can play a pivotal role in the “Make in India” campaign. Furthermore, the US establishment is keen to partner with India and jointly manufacture defense equipment and transfer technology. This can help India meet its security challenges rapidly. “Mr. Modi is the only PM of India to be born in the Post British-Era, and in every way demonstrates a new generation of leadership in India today”, he noted.

Mr. Khurana represented iTECH at the private dinner hosted in honor of the PM by the USIBC, Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C on Sep. 30th. The invites to this exclusive event were sent to 200 prominent American businessmen. Mr. Ajay Banga (CEO, Mastercard) opened the event and convincingly said, “The best days of US-India partnership are coming.”  In his speech Prime Minister Modi promised to replace red-tape with a red carpet for investors. American businesses hope the Prime Minister and his government will deliver on the promises made during this visit, and make it easier for American corporations to do business and invest in India. “ache din aa gaye indeed”, Mr. Khurana further added.
