Rick Santorum denies defeat, gears up for Pennsylvania

April 4, 2012 - Washington

Republican presidential candidate, Rick Santorum has refused to concede defeat and is confident about winning in his home state Pennsylvania.

"We have now reached the point where it's half-time, half the delegates in this process have been selected. Who's ready to charge out of the locker room in Pennsylvania for a strong second half?", The L.A. times quoted Santorum as saying.

"The clock starts tonight. We've got three weeks to go out in Pennsylvania and win this state, and after winning this state, the field looks a little different in May," he added.

Evading questions related to his losses in Maryland, Wisconsin and Washington, and avoiding comment on GOP front-runner Mitt Romney, Santorum emphasized his local roots and how crucial it was for him to win Pennsylvania on April 34 to gain GOP nomination.

Santorum encouraged Pennsylvanians to recall his sixteen years as the senator of the state and representing it in Congress.
