Pak-India composite dialogue postponed due to 'internal affairs' in Pak

June 26, 2012 - Islamabad

Talks between foreign ministers of Pakistan and Indian have been postponed, due to Pakistan's 'internal affairs' and the upcoming presidential elections in India, till an undisclosed date sometime in August or September.

Talks between the foreign secretaries of the two countries which took place this month were to be succeeded by talks between Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and her Indian counterpart SM Krishna in Islamabad next month, reports The Express Tribune.

The talks were being held to discuss and, if possible, resolve issues between the two countries that have been ongoing for decades, including the Kashmir dispute and for reviewing the progress of the second round of the peace process between the nuclear-armed neighbours.
