Angela Merkel tops Forbes list of powerful women for second year in a row

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is ranked at the top in Forbes' list for 100 Women who run the World for the second year in a row. The list names women involved in policymaking, entertainment, technology and nonprofit organizations. Merkel is followed by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.

The Forbes magazine has noted Merkel's influence in preserving the European Union. The average age of the top 100 in the list was 55. It includes personalities from 28 countries. Newcomers in the list include Jennifer Lopez, Laurene Powell Jobs.
