Wills-Kate to pack aid boxes for famine-stricken Africa

October 27, 2011 - London

Prince William and his wife Catherine will be packing boxes of food and medical supplies in an effort to help famine-stricken people in East Africa.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will fly to Denmark next week to visit UNICEF's emergency supply centre in Copenhagen to learn more about the relief effort and to lend a hand, the Daily Mail reported.

The couple will be joined by the Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark for the break-neck visit.

During the engagement, the couple will receive a verbal briefing from UNICEF staff about the current situation, before touring the supply division floor, where they will be invited to pack some boxes of supplies, meet staff, and view displays of items supplied by UNICEF to those in need.

The trip has sparked speculation that Kate, who is currently deciding on which formal charitable patronages she wishes to take on, may seek to become an ambassador for the charity.

But senior royal sources said this is unlikely.
