Will-Kat to visit California in July after Canadian tour

May 6, 2011 - London

It's official. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be visiting California in July after their Canadian tour.

Prince William and Kate had already announced that they would travel to North America this summer.

St James's Palace, however, said the newlyweds were planning to extend their trip to visit the sunshine state, where they are expected to be welcomed by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The couple will travel to the West Coast US state from July 8 to 10, reports The Telegraph.

It will be the first time that William has visited the United States in an official capacity and the first time Kate has ever been to the country.

The couple is expected to take part in Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa on July 1. Their stay will also include a trip to the Arctic, according to a Canadian official.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper invited the couple to Canada after they announced their engagement last November. Canada is also issuing stamps in their honour.
