October 27, 2011 - Peshawar

Pakistani security officials have accused US gunship choppers of violating the country's airspace over North Waziristan Agency, according to a media report.

Two US gunship choppers intruded Pakistan's airspace in North Waziristan Agency on Wednesday and flew over the border villages for almost half an hour before going back to Afghanistan, The News quoted security officials and tribal sources, as saying.

They said the two gunship helicopters flew over Zwoi Naray village in Dattakhel area near the Afghan border early in the day.

The choppers later came 20 kilometres deep inside North Waziristan and flew over different villages in Dattakhel tehsil.

Efforts were made to approach Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major-General Athar Abbas to get his reaction on the matter, but he did not answer his mobile phone, the report said.
