Obama to meet bin Laden raid team

US President Barack Obama is expected to meet the unidentified members of the Navy Seals Team 6 that was involved in the killing Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden last Sunday.

Obama will meet them on Friday and privately thank them for a job well done.ebsite quoted an administration official, as saying on Thursday that Obama is scheduled to visit Fort Campbell in Kentucky to address several military units that have recently returned from duty in Afghanistan.

Fort Campbell is home to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, which participated in the raid against bin Laden. Vice President Joe Biden is also scheduled to join Obama on the visit.

Obama has already met with Vice Admiral William McRaven, the overall commander of the bin Laden mission, at the White House, NBC News reported.

"The president met with Admiral McRaven at the White House yesterday to thank him personally in the Oval Office and will have the opportunity to privately thank some of the special operators involved in the operation tomorrow at Fort Campbell," the official said without elaborating.

On Thursday, Obama visited Ground Zero in New York, while Biden attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the Pentagon.
