Five killed, eight injured in cross-border attack in Bajaur

At least five people were killed and eight injured when 300 to 400 miscreants attacked the Mamond area of Bajaur Agency.

According to the administration, the attackers were Afghanis, who fired on people from a nearby jungle.

The tribal people retaliated and fired at miscreants, forcing them to retreat, the Dunya News reports.

According to sources, the exchange of fire lasted for about 30 minutes.

On June 1, a fight had erupted in Upper Dir after hundreds of insurgents crossed over from Afghanistan and attacked a security check post in Pakistan.
