Brit beauty salon offers make-overs and facials for girls aged

June 9, 2011 - London

A beauty parlour in Britain is offering make-overs, spray tans and facials for children as young as one.

The salon, which caters only for the under-13s, opened for the first time in Brentwood, Essex, on Saturday.

Michelle Devine, 28, a single mother of two young girls, is the owner of the Trendy Monkeys.

Treatments include fruit smoothie facials, mini pedicures, manicures or make-up application, hair 'up-dos', haircut and hair styling.

"I will do spray tans if parents want them," the Daily Mail quoted Devine as saying.

While critics have been warning that pampering youngsters in adult ways can take away their childhood, Devine insisted that going to the salon would allow girls to 'exude confidence, glamour and the desire to look her best at all times, regardless of age'.
