June 11, 2011 - London

Fazul Abdullah Mohammed, suspected of having played a key role in the 1998 US Embassy bombings in East Africa, has been reportedly killed in Somalia.

According to the BBC, Mohammed and another man were shot dead by Somali government troops early on Wednesday at a roadblock in the capital, Mogadishu.

DNA tests are believed to be under way to confirm the dead men's identities.

Abdullah became the most wanted man in Africa after over 220 were killed and 5,000 hurt in the 1998 attacks.

The FBI had put a five million dollar bounty on his head.
