Islamabad, Feb. 1 : Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Abdullah Hussain Haroon has said that findings of the UN probe in the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto will be submitted to the government by March 30.
Interacting with reporters, Haroon said that former Pakistan President Ayub Khan "sold out" three rivers branching out from the Indus to India, which is the reason for the acute water shortage being faced by Sindh.
The Daily Times also quoted him as saying that the people of Sindh would have to emigrate after 20 years due to the non-availability of water, as the province's water supply would dry up in three decades' time.
There is no reason to increase the height of the walls of the Tarbela and Mangla dams, he added.
Furthermore, Haroon said the people of Sindh had a right to the province's coal resources, and therefore the royalty from coal must be given to the Sindh government.
