Karachi, Sept 5 : Pakistani parliamentarians (commonly referred to as Members of National Assembly) and members of provincial assemblies (MPAs) will cast their vote with a special indelible pencil in the presidential election scheduled for tomorrow.
No other writing instrument can be used for marking the ballot, said a guideline of the country's Election Commission.
A voter can only mark the sign of a cross in the box next to their candidate of choice in the secret balloting. The names of the voters will be called alphabetically and the names of the candidates will be given in the Urdu alphabetical sequence on the ballot paper, the Daily Times quoted the EC guidelines as saying.
MPAs have also been asked to bring their assembly card to prove their identity.
The chief justice of each provincial high court would be the presiding officer, the high court registrars will be the provincial election commissioners and the secretaries of the assemblies the polling officers, said the EC statement.
