Kathmandu, Sept 27 : Nepal former Prime Minister and president of Nepali Congress (NC) Girija Prasad Koirala has warned Maoists against undermining democracy.Nepalnews quoted him as saying that Prime Minister Prachanda and some Maoist leaders have started saying that parliamentary democracy had failed.
He said: "I want them to look at the example of United Kingdom - the mother of parliamentary democracy".
"They have started attacking democracy. I want to say that I accept this challenge. We will now fight back," he said.
He also raised objections at efforts to 'politicise' the Nepal national army.
Koirala also drew the attention of United Nations towards news reports that some Constituent Assembly (CA) members of Maoists were carrying gun-toting guards into Constituent Assembly.
