Avea is continuing to work on efficient practices for Number Portability so that without changing dialing codes subscribers may transfer their mobile phone numbers to their desired operators.
Together with Argela, Avea has completed the account activation process infrastructure within the number portability system and has integrated its systems with the Central Reference Database. Thanks to this integration, subscribers will be able to continue their mobile phone communications without any problems beginning November 9, 2008, the date when number portability becomes effective.
Project lasted one year thanks to the efforts of Avea and Argela
The Avea and Argela project teams worked extensively for one year to facilitate a smooth transition period and to enhance customer experience. The Argela System Architectures Group, the Avea Regulation Group, as well as Customer Relations Management and the IT Platform Team, which took part in automating the subscriber definition process, worked together closely on this project. And now the system is ready to let the subscribers own their numbers.
Providing information about the project, Jamal Fakory, Avea's Chief Technology Officer, stated: "For more than one year, we have been working closely with Argela, whose knowledge, experience, and expertise in the telecommunications industry we trust, to integrate our infrastructure into the Number Portability system, which enables subscribers to receive services from their desired operators without changing their phone numbers. During the project, Argela offered the required number portability solution with the desired flexibility and a structure adaptable to variable conditions. So far, we have implemented many successful projects with our solution partner Argela. Using Argela's expertise with the Number Portability Project, a landmark in the telecommunications industry, has made us that much stronger."
Selim Sarper, Argela's VP in charge of Business Development said: "With this project, we have conducted intense integration work and have developed applications for most of the critical AVEA systems. It was really exciting for Argela to take part in such an important project. I think we have been successful on joint projects such as Number Portability, service delivery platforms and in different areas including next-generation networks, thanks to the harmonious and devoted work of AVEA and Argela project teams providing solutions."
