Kate Middleton, who has been dating Prince William for six years, will have to put their wedding plans on hold for eight years.
London, October 6 : Kate Middleton, who has been dating Prince William for six years, will have to put their wedding plans on hold for eight years.
Wills' decision to prioritise his career in the Royal Air Force, to become a Search and Rescue Officer, has shocked his girlfriend, who will now have to wait till 2016 before moving on with their marriage plans.
The 26-year-old may decide to part ways with her royal boyfriend following his decision.
Wills, who is to spend 18 months training to be a pilot from January, followed by another six-year commitment in the RAF, is said to have decided not to marry before completing his training.
Also, Kate might not move with him to any of the six remote Search And Rescue bases around the UK.
According to a palace spokesman, tenants were being sought for the couple's alleged future home, a five-million-pound property on the Duchy of Cornwall's Harewood Park Estate, Herefordshire.
"Kate will ultimately have to decide not only whether she's happy to wait, but also if she's happy to be a military wife," the Daily Star quoted an insider as saying.
"William will be putting his career first," the insider added.
