Islamabad, Oct 10 : Pakistan Airport Security Force arrested a bearded man wearing a burqa trying to board a plane at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad.
The bomber clad in burqa and posing as a woman came to the departure lounge of the airport.
A female official informed the police that a man disguised as a woman was trying to board a plane, The Post quoted officials, as saying.
The police took him into custody and brought him outside the airport lounge and started his search. The police also seized a bag of explosives he was carrying.
Meanwhile, an anonymous caller warned that a bomber had entered the airport premises, sources said.
The arrested man was aged 50 or thereabouts. Security forces announced a state of emergency at the airport soon after the call and arrested the alleged bomber.
The police evacuated the car parking lot at the airport and called the fire brigade, ambulance services, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence and the bomb disposal squad.
