Nawaz says political will required to reinstate deposed judges

PML-N leader and former Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif has said that political will was required to reinstate the deposed judges.

London, May 8 : PML-N leader and former Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif has said that political will was required to reinstate the deposed judges.

He said this while talking to reporters in London last evening.

Both, the PML-N and the PPP had agreed to restore deposed judges in 30 days according to the Murree declaration, however, after some extension due to certain reasons, the judges will be restored before May 12, The News quoted him as saying.

Nawaz said he stayed in London to meet Asif Ali Zardari and would return Pakistan after the meeting.

Restoration of judges issue has been a bone of contention between the PML-N and the PPP. While the League wants an early restoration of judges, the bigger coalition partner the PPP seems unwilling to oblige. Initially April 30 was the deadline for reinstating the judges suspended on November 3.
