UML calls for nationwide protest against YSL in Nepal

UML leaders in Nepal have called for a nationwide protest against the Maoists and their youth wing-Young Communist League (YCL).

Kathmandu, May 7 : UML leaders in Nepal have called for a nationwide protest against the Maoists and their youth wing-Young Communist League (YCL).

Addressing the party's ongoing 18th Central Committee meeting, Standing Committee member Jhalanath Khanal said the UML should launch a strong program of protest against the YCL's 'high-handedness'.

"We have to counter Maoists attacks, and intimidation in Nepal," Kantipur quoted Khanal, as saying.

"UML should not support the Maoists until the latter change their political activities," he added.

During the meeting, UML leaders Keshav Badal, Pradip Gyawali and Gokarna Bista said the Maoists must return all confiscated property and completely end political terrorism in Nepal if it were to receive support from the UML.
