Lahore, May 7 : The Sindh High Court is learnt to have disposed off the infamous "Swiss Bank" case in which PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and his late wife Benazir Bhutto were accused of stashing 50 million dollars in Swiss bank accounts.
With this, all the court cases lying pending against Zardari or his family within Pakistan have been disposed off, reported the Daily Times.
According to deputy attorney general Rizwan Siddiqi, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) withdrew the case.
Zardari, who faces cases in Pakistan and abroad, would be acquitted of all charges against him very soon, the paper quoted Siddiqi as saying.
According to a TV report, Zardari is currently attempting to have a case registered against him in London dropped. The SHC asked the deputy attorney general to produce evidence that the London case has been withdrawn. NAB Deputy Prosecutor General Dr Danish Malik said that he had a photocopy of an order sent from a British court and received by him via fax.
Subsequently, the State gave NAB Deputy Prosecutor the deadline of May 15 to acquire and submit the original copy of the British court order.
