Nepalese Information and Communication Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara on Sunday said that the new Nepal Government would compensate the families of those killed during the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.

Kathmandu, May 4 : Nepalese Information and Communication Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara on Sunday said that the new Nepal Government would compensate the families of those killed during the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.

The government would give 1.5 million rupees each to those who lost their relatives in the poll related violence.

The cabinet in its first meeting assigned the Ministry of Home Affairs to set up an independent commission to investigate into the election-related violence.

"The government panel which was formed to investigate into the Surket incident will continue and an independent commission will be formed to look into the poll-related violence occurred in districts including Dang, Mahottari, Sunsari and Solukhumbu," kantipuronline quoted Health Minister Giri Raj Mani Pokhrel, as saying.
