Is Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and his family on the way out?

Islamabad, May 30 : Is Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and his family on the way out?

Rumours on this score are circulating like wildfire in Pakistan capital Islamabad after a special wide-bodied Air Bus A-310 arrived at the Chaklala Air Force Base. Another rumour doing the rounds was that of packing of material at an important house in Rawalpindi, though news reports were not saying whether it at Army House, where Musharraf and his family stay.

According to The News, special contingents of the Pakistan Armed Forces have been deployed at important installations, including the Army House.

The paper quoted former Army Chief General Mirza Aslam Beg as saying that Musharraf has decided to step down, and has been advised to move temporarily to the Presidency.

Meanwhile, highly placed sources revealed that the plane will take special passengers to a close neighbouring country and that.modalities have been finalised for the exit of the significant family.

Sources close to the Presidency, however, denied any such arrangements, claiming that it was part of a rumour-mongering process to harm the country. "The president has no plans to quit and leave the country," the sources added.

The decision regarding Musharraf's exit would be taken up immediately after the return of Senate Chairman Muhammadmian Soomro from abroad. He has been asked to return home, cutting short his visit.
